Why I’m back to customizing my devices

the older i get, the less time i spend making my devices look “cute”… and then i realize that’s literally half the joy of owning them 😭💻✨ so lately i’ve been doing a full tech_girl_aesthetic reset anytime my setup starts feeling stale: clean visuals, smoother workflows, and little details that make me want to open my laptop on purpose.

the vibe i’m always chasing: calm, capable, and slightly aesthetic… but still functional.

Gaming setup energy (even if you don’t game)

i love borrowing “gaming aesthetic” ideas because gamers understand one thing: your setup should feel like an experience. even if you’re not gaming, you can steal the same principles:

performance matters: enough memory/storage so your workflow doesn’t stutter.

lighting as mood: soft lighting behind the monitor or on the desk makes everything look cleaner and less harsh.

and yes… a pink moment is always allowed. a soft color palette can still be powerful.

sometimes the most “tech girl aesthetic” thing isn’t futuristic—it’s nostalgic 🥹. i love adding little early-2000s inspired touches to my space because it makes tech feel playful again:
